The highlight of the meeting was a demo on Resin casting by President Ken Brent and Bruce Hall. Bruce had made up molds of some car engine parts in advance and Ken actually cast a couple of dozen parts during the meeting. He kept up a running comentary and really showed us how the process works. Phil Pucher had a B-25/PBJ fuselage which Ken is going to take home and make a mold for duplicating the Waist Gun window areas. Phil also showed a Legends conversion set for changing a 1/35 scale M3 Lee tank to an M31 Armored Recovery Vehicle and he had a few items for sale. Ken also brought along a truck project which he is working on. Julian Yudelson brought in a pair of 1/72nd scale P-80 kits by Airfix and Strombecker. He did a half and half comparison by glueing the left side of the plastic Airfix kit to the right side of the wooden Strombecker kit. The fit was quite close! Kevin McGrath brought in a Dragon Panther in 1/35th scale which he has nearly completed with Lion Roar (Kevin needs an instruction sheet for that) and Friulmodel aftermarket tracks. Treasurer Jim Elam had a few magazines for sale and collected dues from "new" member John McKeown who has rejoined after a few years away. John brought in a 1/32 scale Revell Spitfire which he built in 1975 and mounted on a trophy from ROCON. Art Martin also paid his dues. George Harmston did an in the box comparison of 5 Hellcat kits in 1/48th scale by Monogram, Otaki, Hasegawa, Eduard and Hobby Boss. It was mentioned that the detail might be going a little overboard, while the prices certainly are. Steve Lunt brought in a 1/48th scale Tamiya Beaufighter in desert colors. Armand Miale straightened out some confusion about Church meeting dates. Don Leete gave a way a few back issues of Air Classics magazine. Matt Hunt brought in his second attempt at a car model, a Revell 1968 Dodge Charger. He didn't think his first one was worth showing. Chris Boss brought a Hasegawa intruder and an Airfix Westland Whirlwind in 1/72nd scale. John Groves brought 4 types of APC in 1/35th scale including MGS, Stryker and a German vehicle in UN white.
