Dissolution of IPMS/Rochester
- Membership is open to anyone interested in plastic scale model construction in any media.
- Senior members are defined as those members, aged 18 years or older who are in good standing with dues paid to the Rochester Chapter of IPMS/USA. Senior members may vote on club business and hold elected or appointed office in the club. Membership in IPMS/USA or other modeling organizations is encouraged but not required except as made necessary by terms of our Charter as an IPMS/USA Chapter.
- Members under 18 will be considered Junior members, and will not have voting rights nor may they hold elected office in the club. Junior members will have all the other rights and benefits of Senior members.
- All members shall conduct themselves with the best interest of the club in mind. It is the responsibility of all members to promote the hobby of scale modeling to their fellow modelers and the general public in a friendly and unselfish manner.
Dues
- Member dues will be determined, as needed, by vote of the membership. Currently $15.00/year, subject to change at any time.
- Dues are to be paid to the Treasurer at or before the September meeting and will cover the upcoming membership year.
- There will be no refund or prorating of dues if a member leaves the club for whatever reason.
- Dues are not received by the February meeting, the member will be dropped from the club roster and all benefits of membership, including participation in club functions, and so forth will be halted until dues are paid.
Meetings
- Meetings are to be held monthly, at a time and place agreed upon by the officers.
- The format and content of meetings will be determined by the officers of the club and will be directed by the officers of the club. All members are encouraged to participate in demos, workshops, slide shows, road trips, and contests sponsored by the club.
- Business meetings and officer’s meetings may be called outside of the normal monthly meeting as needed. All additional meetings are open to all members who wish to attend as long as prior notice is given to the officer’s to allow adequate room for extra attendees.
Officers
- The elected officers of the club will consist of President, Vice President, and Treasurer.
- Elected officers will be nominated by the membership at the October meeting with the election taking place at the November meeting. Absentee ballots will be permitted but must be submitted to the Chapter Contact before the November meeting. Officers are elected to one (1) year terms and are not limited in the number of successive terms to which they may be elected.
- The election will be presided over by the Treasurer. The newly elected officers will assume their duties at the November meeting.
- The duties of each officer will consist of but are not limited to the following items.
- President: The president will set agendas for meetings and preside over the business portion of the monthly club meeting. The president may delegate authority to any other member to conduct business relevant to the club. The president acts as representative of the club at the Regional business meeting held annually at the Region I Convention.
- Vice President: The Vice President shall assist the President in conducting the business of the club and shall assume the duties of the President in his absence.
- Treasurer: The treasurer shall keep and maintain the financial records of the club, including dues collected from members, funds collected at shows and other expenses and income relative to the club. He will keep the membership informed of the status of club finances on a regular and timely basis and will disburse funds as approved by the membership. The Treasurer will handle any correspondence requested by the officers or the club. The Treasurer will maintain a roster of members in good standing and will share updates on a monthly basis with the President and Membership Chairman.
- All elected officers must be members of IPMS/USA throughout their term of office.
- The Chapter Contact is an appointed officer of the club who serves as the club’s liaison with IPMS/USA and with other IPMS Chapters and modeling organizations. The Chapter Contact serves as the club’s mailbox and answering service and is charged with keeping informed on all club activities so that members may contact him and be informed of upcoming events. The Chapter Contact must deliver correspondence to the proper officers and serve as a contact for perspective members. Due to the need for continuity and commitment to the club, the Chapter Contact should be an active, veteran member of the club who has a stable mailing address and/or e-mail address and good relations within the club and with modelers in other clubs. The Chapter Contact serves in his post for as long as he cares to or until the membership decides to appoint a replacement. The Chapter Contact must maintain membership as an IPMS/USA member throughout his term of office. The Chapter Contact is charged with ensuring that the club’s IPMS/USA Chapter Charter is renewed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Appointed officers of the club are to be chosen by the officers. These officers include, but are not limited to: Chapter Contact, Contest Director, Membership Chairman, Chief Judge, and Junior Activities Chairman. Appointed officer’s duties and terms will be determined by the officers as needed .
Voting
- Any vote at a regular meeting shall require a minimum of one-third of the Senior members in good standing present. A two-thirds majority of the voting members shall be required to carry the vote for any business requiring the expenditure of club funds or changing the dues structure. Other business will require a simple majority.
Dissolution of IPMS/Rochester
- In the event of the dissolution of IPMS/Rochester, the Treasurer will discharge any obligations incurred by the club that are outstanding at that time. Any remaining funds are to be disbursed in equal amounts to an ordnance museum, an aircraft museum, and an automotive museum or other appropriate recipient as chosen by the remaining up-to-date membership.
